A short history on AnniceMakeup

My passion for makeup comes from my love of art. From and early age I loved fashion, art and beauty. Throughout my education I took art as a subject and found joy in painting and drawing, using faces as the subjects of my artworks. After school I studied Graphic Design which opened my eyes to many other art forms.

I started working as a Makeup Artist in 2012 when I completed a professional Makeup Course in Johannesburg. After working as a freelance artist for a year, I joined MAC Cosmetics, where I worked full time for almost four years. During this time I gained invaluable experience and worked in the Fashion Industry, on a variety of events and fashions shows throughout the country. I also had the opportunity to collaborate with renowned South African designers such as David Tlale, Marianne Fassler and Rich Mnisi. My experience went beyond fashion, as I also taught the art of makeup in the store and hosted makeup classes for MAC Cosmetics. Over the last 4 years I've continued working at AFI and SA Fashion week and hosted multiple makeup classes across Gauteng. My work has expanded into the fashion and commercial space and I'm proud to have worked with top brands and creatives.

List of Brands I've worked for include: Adidas, Castle Light, GHD, Google, LUSH, Levi's, Thebe Magugu, Dior, Carl Kapp, Loro Piana & Intersport. Published work include international and local Magazines: Vogue, Instyle Magazine, Dazed & Confused, GQ & Sarie.

Above all, I am passionate about people and sharing experiences. It's important to me to make someone feel beautiful, unique or special no matter what the occasion! My mission is to inspire and to be inspired.
